Product Information

Serpent is the sting in the tail for bacteria and scale. Suitable for cluster dipping. Food friendly santiser , 100% Biodegradable.

  • Effective combined sanister and scale inhibitor.
  • For milking equipment and final rinse water.
  • Eliminates acid descaling and chlorine use in the final rinse water.
  • Reduce thermodurics and TBCs by keeping milking equipment scale free.
  • Eliminates erractic results due to water quality.

Instructions for use:

Use Serpent after every milking to prevent any build up of scale, kill bacteria remaining after washing and help ensure rinse water is within EU regulations. Prior to using Serpent for the first time, descale milk plant thoroughly. For best results use Kingdom Acid Descaler.

Recommended procedure for milking equipment:

  • Rinse milking plant with water and circulate your detergent as normal, for required time. (Use Circodine P/Multisan for best results)
  • Recover detergent solution if after morning milking or send to waste if after evening milking.
  • Thoroughly rinse plant with cold water. Allow 3 gal. (15l) per unit to drain. Caustic residue from cleaning should be removed to avoid loss of efficiency.
  • Remove the suction hose from the rinse tank and ADD correct amount of Serpent to rinse tank.

No. of units: < 8 units, 8-16 units, 16-24 units

Serpent Volume to Add: 30ml (Handpump x 1), 60ml (Handpump x 2), 90ml (Handpump x 3)

Volume of water in rinse tank: 5 gal./ 22.7 litres of cold water, 10 gal./ 45.4 litres of cold water, 15 gal./ 68 litres of cold water

Note: Where the rinse water is soft (no lime residues on heated surfaces) the volume of Serpent used in the evening milking can be halved (i.e morning milking 60mls for 8 units and evening milking 30mls for 8 units per 10 gallons/45 litres of water.)

  •  Replace the suction hose anf flush this SERPENT solution through milking plant to drain. (Where numbers of units are high it is advisable to circulate this solution for 1-2 minutes to ensure all milking plant is vetted.)
  • Switch off all milking plant and allow all water to drain from milking plant.
  • There is no need to rinse off the serpent solution prior to next milking. Serpent will not taint milk when above procedure is followed.
  • Prior to milking close all drain valves. Allow any remaininfg water in plant to drain before allowing milk into bulk tank.

Recommended procedure for cluster dipping:

  • Fill 2 buckets , 1 with water and 1 with a 1:350 solution of SERPENT.
  • Dip cluster after removing from cow, in the bucket of water to remove organic matter.
  • Then dip the cluster several times into the SERPENT solution.
  • Shake off the excess solution from the cluster and fit to the next cow.
  • Change the content of buckets after every 20 cows or if the solution becomes fouled.
