Mortox 50

Selective weedkiller for grassland, golf courses and sports fields. Especially suitable for the spraying of ragwort. Contains 500g / litre 2,4-D. Systemic and selective weedkiller.

Directions for use:

Crop: Grassland Amenity Grassland & Managed Amenity Turf

Max individual dose: 3.3l/ha

Max number of applications: 1

Max total dose: 3.3l/ha

Golf courses: Sports fields etc: Apply 2.8 litres per hectare in 90-180 litres of water from May to September when weeds are growing actively - avoid overlap which may scorch.

Knapsack: Apply 50 mls per 5L of water in a knapsack sprayer to treat 180 for daisies, dandelions etc.

Method of application: Hydraulic nozzle applicator / knapsack / tractor mounted sprayer.

Control of Ragwort:

Mortox 50 is especially suitable for the treatment of Ragwort. Treatment will normally kill plants at all stages of growth up to the early bud stage. It is essential that stock be kept off treated pastures until Ragwort and all poisonus weeds are completely dead and disappeared. 

Spring/Summer treatment: For best levels of control treat from April to June when Rosettes are growing strongly but before flower buds are well formed.

Autumn/Winter Treatment: Ragwort can be sprayed under conditions of good growth from September to February provided it is a calm day and no frost is expected. A period of at least 3-4 hours dryness is required after spraying. Spraying at this time of year has the following advantages:

• Stock are not being grazed at this time and therefore no loss of grazing days is incurred.
• Any clover checked by the spraywill have time to recover.

Additional safety information:

Extreme care must be taken to avoid spray drift onto non-crop plants outsidr the target area. Livestock must be kept out of treated areas until poisonous weeds such as ragwort have died an become unpalatable. Do not contaminate water with the product or its container (Do not  clean application equipment near surface water / Avoid contamination via drains from farmyards and roads)

Do not use more than the recommended quantities of 'Mortox 50' in the close vicinity of flowers, vegetables and other beneficial plants or bushes, which may be injured by spray. Weather is a very important factor. Rain or frost too soon after spraying will affect the results.
