Homeland Ballaghaderreen have partnered with St Attracta National School in Ballaghadreen, Co. Roscommon to host a Sunflower growing competition with their young students!
Last week, Anita McNicholas, Garden Centre Mnager at Homeland Ballaghaderreen visited the students to launch the sunflower competition. We were blessed with a lovely dry day, and Anita was able to demonstrate to the first-class students at their outdoor tunnel how to sow Sunflower seeds.
Each student followed the demonstration while planting their own sunflower seed. Anita will return on the 13th June to judge the tallest and healthiest sunflower. We cannot wait to see how tall the students sunflowers grow!
