Growing Information

Tasty spears for many years to come! Sow March-April under glass at a temperature of 18-20°C (65-70°F). Plant out when frost risk has passed, 45cm (18") apart. Keep weeded and watered. A light harvest can be achieved in August of the first year from planting (45-52 weeks maturity), main picking in May-June in subsequent years.

Sow during March and April thinly in pots or trays in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx. 18-20°C (65-70°F) using a good quality seed compost. Cover seeds with 3mm

⁄8") sieved compost. Germination 14-21 days. Move resulting seedings to a cool and light area out of direct sunlight. Plant out when frost risk has passed after acclimatising (hardening off) 45cm (18") apart. Keep weeded and watered.
