WEEE Recycling

About WEEE:

All retailers of electrical and electronic goods must comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation (S.I. No.340 of 2005 as amended by S.I. 149 of 2014).

Homeland Stores are very happy to implement the current WEEE Directive to ensure that old appliances are disposed of in a safe manner thereby reducing any harmful effects to the environment. A take back service operates both in our Homeland stores or from your home following online purchases.

Recycling  WEEE and Batteries / Light Bulbs:
WEEE and waste batteries and light bulbs must never be placed in your waste disposal or recycling bins. WEEE is taken back free of charge at electrical retail outlets on a one-for one like-for-like basis. Local authority civic amenity facilities also take back WEEE and waste batteries and light bulbs free of charge. There is a bin for small batteries in your local Homeland Store.

WEEE and waste battery and bulbs recycling is free.

What Products Can You Recycle?
We’re happy to recycle any small items such as kettles and toasters (like for like).

How Can I Recycle In Store?:
When you purchase a new electrical item from Homeland stores you can exchange an old similar item for recycling. (e.g. a toaster for a toaster, or a similar small domestic appliance such as a kettle) There is no charge for this service.
