This exciting Common Knapweed, blooms from June until October. It generates bundles of spider shaped flowers, that are purple in colour and a magnet for butterflies! They sit neatly upon fresh green mounds of foliage and work wonderfully in borders and cottage gardening schemes. Happy to grow in direct sunlight, watch it flourish to a height of 75cm, along with a spread of 50cm.

Growing Information

Pot up Knapweed plants and grow them on in frost free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When plants are well-grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in borders in full sun. Knapweed is drought tolerant once established and will happily tolerate almost any soil, except those that are excessively waterlogged.
